Crogl 2.16.0 Release Notes

Crogl 2.16.0 adds AWS OpenSearch and Wiz connectors, OpenRouter as a model provider, a published REST API, PDF and JSONL export of chats and reports, and faster knowledge-graph learning. These notes cover everything since 2.12.1, including 2.13.0, 2.14.0, and 2.15.0.

Before you upgrade

The installer runs over your existing install and keeps your crogld.yaml, crogl.yaml, and local data. Do three things first:

  • Back up the database, attachments, and secrets together. A database backup alone does not hold attachment files or the keys that decrypt your settings, so capture all three at the same moment. If the upgrade fails, restore the database into a new, empty database, along with the matching files. The Operations page gives the procedure.
  • Update the crogl CLI on every machine that connects, in the same window as the server.
  • Update scripts that use a changed command or path. See Deprecations.

What's New

Connect AWS OpenSearch and Wiz

Two new connectors ship built in. AWS OpenSearch searches an Amazon OpenSearch Service domain, in commercial regions and GovCloud. Wiz tells you what a cloud asset is. Give it an IP address, instance ID, or resource name, and Crogl returns the account, region, and tags, with the asset's open issues and findings.

The Sentinel and Log Analytics connectors now reach workspaces in Azure Government too.

Run your models through OpenRouter

OpenRouter joins the providers you can configure. One API key gives you models from several makers, including Claude and Nemotron 3 Ultra.

Build your own integrations on the REST API

The documentation site publishes a full API Reference with guides to authentication, requests, filtering, errors, and versioning. Your code can drive conversations, connectors, skills, and scheduled jobs: create a conversation, then send it turns. Download the OpenAPI specification with crogl get-openapi.

Build a connector with its own settings

A connector you build can declare its own settings, and Crogl collects them on the connect form. A connector or model provider that requires mutual TLS can authenticate with a client certificate. You can also disable a skill and re-enable it later, so the agent does not use it in the meantime.

Faster, more efficient knowledge-graph learning

Crogl learns the relationships in your data faster and with fewer tokens. crogl get-kg-summary shows what the graph has learned, per connector.

Export a chat or a report as PDF or JSONL

Export a saved chat or an investigation report as a PDF, or a chat as JSONL, from the UI, the REST API, or the CLI.

See where a chat's tokens went

Select the token icon on the full chat page to see the tokens a conversation used, broken out by model.

Download the docs for your version

Download the documentation for the version you run, as a PDF or as Markdown, with crogl get-docs.

Fixes

  • Chats on Amazon Bedrock Mantle models answer without stalling.
  • Log Analytics queries that run longer than 30 seconds complete.
  • Paging a long list after you refresh or filter it shows only rows from the current view.
  • A crogl command whose sign-in has expired signs in again and retries.
  • A scheduled run that cannot get capacity is retried before it fails.

Deprecations

  • crogl get-conversation no longer returns the messages. Read them with crogl get-conversation-messages.
  • POST /api/v1/conversations/stream is removed. Create the conversation, then send each turn to POST /api/v1/conversations/{id}/stream.
  • crogl rename-skill and crogl rename-external-skill are now crogl update-skill and crogl update-external-skill.
  • crogl list-attachments filters on type and size, not file_type and size_bytes.
  • Relationship lookups use /api/v1/conversation-relationships.
  • Scheduled-job run records drop agent_request_id. Read conversation_id.
